نویسندگان
چکیده
Objective: To compare the efficacy and safety of left lateral decubitus versus prone position during endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreaticography (ERCP).
Methods: This prospective single-centre cohort study was carried out at Pak Emirates Military Hospital from January to June 2021. Patients requiring ERCP were subsequently allotted LL or PP group randomly (unequal randomization) except patients with recent abdominal surgery, in-dwelling catheters, raised intra-abdominal pressure, cervical spine abnormalities limb contractures. Qualitative data analysed using frequencies chi square statistics whereas, quantitative mean±SD student T Mann Whitney U-test.
Results: A total 114 enrolled according inclusion criteria 62(54%) males majority (42%) belonging age 31-45 years. The most common indication choledocholithiasis (36%). Technical success achieved in 109(96%) no statistically significant difference between two groups. time procedure, for deep cannulation, acquiring therapeutic goal complexity level all similar rate inadvertent PD cannulation PEP relatively higher but non-significant through univariate logistic regression analyses only outcome measure that showed significance multiple cannulations group.
Conclusion: concludes is non-inferior both positions have comparable outcomes differences terms technical rate, complications (specifically PEP), procedure time, required attainment goal, cannulation.

Evaluation of remifentanil in endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography.
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE Endoscopic retrogade cholangio-pancreatography (ERCP) is a painful procedure that requires transient analgesia and conscious sedation. Remifentanil an ultrashort, very potent narcotic, is eliminated by plasma esterases, and does not interfere with liver function. It does not accumulate and is free of residual depression. Our aim is to find out if remifentanil can provid...

A best evidence topic was written according to a structured protocol. The question addressed was whether the thoracoscopic phase of three-stage minimally-invasive esophagectomy is best performed in the prone or left lateral decubitus position. A total of 31 papers were found using the reported searches, of which seven represented the best evidence to answer the clinical question. The authors, d...
